Associate Elberta Raschke September 1, 1944-March 20, 2024 Accepted June 23, 2006

Associate Elberta Raschke passed away in Chicago, on March 20, 2024.

Elberta was born on Sept. 1, 1944, in Chicago. She was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and first met the BVM Sisters when she attended elementary school there.

On June 23, 2006, Elizabeth was accepted as a BVM associate at the recommendation of BVM Patricia Kerz who stated that Elberta, “is generous in giving her time. Her sense of humor lightens things up and she is sincere about wanting to be associated with BVMs.”

As long as her health permitted, Elberta was a very active associate. She worked with Patricia Kerz, BVM in the Blessed Sacrament food pantry, hosted a weekly Eucharistic Prayer Service at Park House Nursing Home, and worked in the community garden. Elberta was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Parish until it closed. She then joined St. Agatha parish.

Elberta is survived by her son, Max Raschke. She shared, “My son is my greatest priority and my greatest success.” She also considered her BVM friends to be family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Arrangements are pending and will be shared as they are finalized.
