Associate Beverly Wenzel

September 16, 1938-February 23, 2023

Beverly was born in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of John K. Tittle Sr. and Sarah Jane Brandes Tittle.

Beverly worked as a dental assistant and met a number of sisters there. She later worked as a nursing assistant at Mount Carmel in Dubuque, first in the Motherhouse and later in Marian Hall. Beverly was well respected by the sisters and staff at Mount Carmel.

Beverly was accepted as an associate on April 7, 2001. Her discernment companion and co-worker, Associate Kathryn Kean, noted her loving care and kindness to the sisters she diligently served. In her application for association, Beverly referred to the gifts she wanted to share, “My love, trust, respect of my Sisters, and my duty, whatever it may be.” She lived this out even when she was unable to be as mobile.  She held the BVM community in her thoughts and prayers and would reminisce on her times at Mount Carmel when associate coordinators called her.

She was known for enjoying music and was devoted to her family.

The Funeral Service for Beverly will be 11:30 am Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Cremation Service, with Deacon Mike Ellis officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:15 am prior to the service on Wednesday.
