Carmel Catholic Cherishes BVM Relationship

In honor of all the BVMs who have served at or attended Carmel Catholic High School (CCHS) in Mundelein, IL, CCHS held a special event on Sept. 10.

For the last 60 years, the Blessed Titus Brandsma Chapel (now Saint Titus Brandsma Chapel) has welcomed generations of Carmel Catholic High School students in Mundelein, Ill.

The chapel is now undergoing a transformation. Efforts to enhance the natural beauty of the chapel, preserve the tradition, and reflect the legacy of the Carmelite and BVM founders, will create a timeless space for the next generation of students.

BVMs are represented in custom murals in the chapel. In addition, the marble from the original BVM chapel is now placed at the altar and the tabernacle from Wright Hall is also present.

Directly outside the chapel, there will be a gathering space for students, named after BVM Foundress Mary Frances Clarke. The Mary Frances Clarke Spiritual Center will include an outdoor “Circle of Friends” garden, complete with lilies.
