Getting to Know Your Marshallese Friends

The 2019 World Day of Prayer centers around “welcoming all to the table.”  Please join women of the Marshall Islands as they welcome you to their table, share their stories and dance.  The event will be in the Clarke University Atrium, 1550 Clarke Drive, Dubuque IA.

 

Judy Richardson: Pioneering Civil Rights Activists and Filmmakers

March 7, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Ms. Richardon will give a featured talk sponsored by the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque in conjunction with the Dubuque Museum of Art’s new exhibit, “African American Art in the 20th Century.”

Ms. Richardson was at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement, working on the staff of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and organizing a “freedom school” for young people to work together across racial lines to achieve equal rights for all Americans.
