Redefining Representation: The Women of the 116th Congress

The midterm elections of 2018 swept the country in a number of record-breaking ways, however the biggest wave of the election cycle was the widespread victories of women running for office. The article states that there are many firsts in Congress right now,

“the first women representing their states, the first female combat veteran, the first Native American women, the first Muslim women, the first openly gay member of the Senate, the first woman Speaker of the House -the list goes on.”
