7 Acts of Indigenous Resistance They Don’t Teach in School

Unfortunately, there is a known disparity in education in regards to how Native American history taught compared to what is understood as typical “American” history. Oftentimes, Native American history is virtually erased from textbooks or seriously misunderstood and entrenched in stereotypes. In a quote taken from the article about the necessity of learning about Native American history, “it is essential that we acknowledge the physical, economic, and psychological trauma that U.S. colonialism has inflicted on indigenous communities”.
